Meet Justin Pratt

“The main priority is to serve the current electrical needs that each division has, and keep that profit in house. From there, we’re venturing out into Battery Energy Storage, Solar, Vehicle Charging, and other renewable energy work.”

Justin Pratt

Justin Pratt, Alamon’s new Electrical Supervisor joined the company in October of 2022.  As the upward trajectory of the renewable energy industry continues, Alamon will devote more resources to serving that marketplace, and Justin will be key to that effort.

Alamon Wireless Services - Small Cell Work for VerizonHow did I end up at Alamon?  I started training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with Ryan Hansen (Alamon Wireless Services Project Manager). We were training together for about six months, and he found out that I was an electrician. He had a project that needed one – a small cell project in Inglewood for Verizon. So, you know, we started talking and I was able to help him out on small cell projects with my previous company, South Coast Electrical.

About a year before I joined Alamon, their Wireless group began recruiting me. There came a point where the timing was right, and I made the jump.

My first responsibility is to get Alamon licensed for electrical work in the states where it makes the most sense. It can be challenging, because each state has its own unique requirements. We are currently licensed in Nevada and Texas and are able to perform work in those states. I just got approved to take the trade portion of the exam for California. I expect that we’ll be licensed in California in the next month or two. From there, we’ll focus on the southwestern U.S. and pursue Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and Wyoming.

Travis Williams discusses Justin PrattThe main priority will be to serve the current electrical needs that each division has, and keep that profit in house. From there, we’re venturing out into Battery Energy Storage, Solar, Vehicle Charging, and other renewable energy work. The big advantage is being able to self-perform the work. When we have to subcontract the electrical work on projects, we’re really limited on our ability profit on it.

I love Alamon. It’s a big company with the intimacy of a small company. We’re small enough that it feels like a family here, but large enough to take on big projects.

Ginger (Button, IT Specialist) calls me “Green Acres” because we moved from the city to the country. I was born and raised in Orange County, CA, but I’m in Twin Falls, ID, now with my wife and three daughters.  We’re trying to raise our own chickens, which is new to us. The laying hens are going well. The meat birds… that’s been a bit of a learning curve. We’ve lost seven out of our first ten.

Dogs or cats? We have cats. They’re good mousers. I appreciate that they serve a purpose and help out around here.
