Utility West – Pole Inspection & Treatment

I joined the Utility West team in Ephrata, WA for the first day of a pole inspection & treatment project for Grant County PUD. This is the 2nd project Alamon has been awarded by Grant County PUD, and it’s worth noting that the excellent work Alamon did on the first project for Grant County earned them this 2nd opportunity.

Project Manager Dustin Schmidt is a skilled industry veteran that has seen and done it all, and answers any question about the business and inspection process, in-depth. Dustin’s crew is a young group that works hard, moves fast, and does impressive work. I sit at a desk all day looking at a computer. By contrast, Clayton Davis, Nathaneal Mathison, Benjamin Jimenez, Cassity Schmidt and Cory Jones never stop moving. Digging, drilling, inspecting, treating, packing up and moving to the next pole – and repeating the process over and over.

This was a great trip, and I appreciate Dustin and his team letting me tag along.

Outside Plant – FTTH Installation

David Trejo and Andrew Lawrence (in photo 1 below, Andrew is on the left, David is on the right) were introduced to me as two of Alamon’s outstanding FTTH installers by OSP Foreman Kenny Wallin. David and Andrew are efficient, professional, and great with homeowners whose fiber internet they’re installing. I slowed them down by getting in their way with the camera gear, but they were gracious and helped me capture some great shots of their work. I look forward to visiting David and Andrew in the future.
