SUPPORTING ALAMON OPERATIONS
In recent months the Alamon Technology Department has grown in its capacity to serve our network users. As a division, the Technology Group serves the IT infrastructure of Alamon in many important ways.
Equipment Procurement, Staging, Support and Maintenance
New equipment is procured, staged and delivered to users as well as providing user support and troubleshooting through the online ticketing system. The user equipment serviced and maintained by the Technology group spans the gamut from laptops and peripherals to mobile phones and tablets and even new software and installation. Alamon users are never left to suffer technology issues alone.
Network Infrastructure
The Technology Group also oversees the Alamon network infrastructure. This complex environment contains a myriad of devices that help to keep the engine of Alamon running. From domain controllers to network print servers, security firewalls, wifi networks, VPNs and the Alamon online web resources, the Technology Group works to ensure these components serve the needs of Alamon employees.
Software Development
The Software Development arm of the Technology Group serves the needs of Alamon’s Alatrac users as well. Our development team works long hours to ensure that our software enables field crews and managers to collect and report data to our customers in a valuable and efficient way.
Engineering Support
Lesser known however, is the engineering support capability of the Alamon Technology Group. This team has a wide range of skills that can be leveraged to support customer work involving new technologies and develop roadmaps to acquire new skillsets. From cellular installations to UPS systems to Wifi and automation, the Technology Group can bring a litany of value-add skills to Alamon customer projects.
Innovation Leads to Innovation
Alamon is positioning itself to be a technology leader. One of the skills necessary to be successful in doing so is to be able to offer unique products and services that are unobtainable elsewhere. Technology Manager James Presnell has a talent for developing unique engineered solutions and product designs. He is also highly knowledgeable about manufacturing technology and the CAD software required to support it.
Our Enterprise Technical Services division has a working 3D printing environment in Lenexa, KS, giving Alamon the capability to design custom products for end-user customers that can either be one-off applications sold at high margins, or used to develop mass-produced items to be sold in the distribution marketplace for generic customer use.
Internally, we are able to create specific custom tools and accessories that enhance our own departments’ services and field capabilities.
